Why This Reference Exists
Iowa treats many arrest and booking details as public records, but those details do not all live in one system. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office creates county booking records and operates the jail roster and recent-arrest dashboard. Iowa Courts Online carries the case events that follow an arrest, while the Iowa Department of Corrections publishes information about people who enter state custody. A focused public-records request may be needed when a photo or older booking no longer appears online. We organize those official routes and explain what each one can confirm. No booking photographs are stored or displayed here.
Records Paths We Explain
The content is arranged around the point in the arrest and custody process that a reader needs to verify:
- The Marion County recent-arrests hub explains the roster, booking records, warrants, booking-photo law, and lawful correction or removal routes.
- Arrested Today focuses on the dashboard’s same-day window, while Arrest Reports covers a longer blotter view.
- VINE Arrest Check explains custody-status checks and release or transfer alerts.
- City pages describe the distinct police publication and records path for Pella, Knoxville, and Pleasantville.
- Request guidance identifies what to ask the Sheriff’s records custodian for when an online view is incomplete.
Limits of Our Role
This is an independent, privately operated reference site. It has no connection to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Jail, Iowa Department of Corrections, any police department, court, or other government agency.
- We cannot release, detain, or transfer a person in custody.
- We cannot post bond, arrange a jail visit, or send funds for anyone.
- We cannot provide legal advice or represent a person in court.
- We cannot promise that every agency phone number, fee, or address remains current.
Only the responsible sheriff, jail, court, or corrections agency can confirm current custody, booked charges, and release status.
Independent Search Partners
Some pages contain search tools supplied by outside providers. Those companies control their own results, terms, and prices. If a visitor follows one of those tools and purchases a subscription or other paid service, this site may receive a referral fee that helps keep access to our reference material free. We do not set a partner’s price and cannot change its search output.
